Ever had one of those days when you feel vaguely like Brad Davis as Billy Hayes in Alan Parker's "Midnight Express ? Well, today is definitely one of those days. And to think Turkey will soon become a fully fledged member of the European Union.
I also felt it would be interesting to highlight the biggest cinematic hit from the same year "The Zipper b/w Clock Wise" hit the streets.
Still, you can't hold a candle to basic human rights as interpreted by Turkish law; those quaint Istanbul jails do possess a certain old world charm. I wonder if the prison guards will entertain us all by modelling a colourful new design of uniform. Just to celebrate Accession, you understand.
