as a stand up comedian.
He decided to make himself
as dour as humanly possible.
Just so people might giggle and
whisper ;
"He's not as depressed a fuck
as you might think.
He's actually quite entertaining."
Poor cunt.
It never did quite work out.

While I can think of several good reasons in defense of my original image selection to this post, I do not fully trust my editorial decision making of late.
In short, while I don't want to appear to be toothless in the face of potential accusations of flippancy, even I was offended to a degree. The original image has been rescinded.
This poem, however, bears absolutely no relationship with either Lucio Amelio or Mapplethorpe beyond the very loose narrative of the photograph.
