Oops, I commented about the Mekons on the Zappa post. I'll comment on Zappa here. When I was a teenager, I dreamed of someday meeting a girl who liked Zappa. Years later, I was watching a program on women in science. They did a long segment on a stunningly beautiful Canadian particle physicist who talked about Zappa being her big favorite. Sigh, the beautiful, nerdy girl o' my dreams.

Well. In order not to confuse things further by responding to your comment on Zappa on the Zappa post itself, I will keep the tape rolling here.

Interesting train of thought. I suspect there are quite a few beautiful women out there with more than an admiration for his music. I've actually met a couple of foxy Zappa aficionados myself, but on both occasions in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I've long loved this song from an old comp of Fast singles from long ago.

Thanks for the comment, frankenslade. Fast was a fine label, and this Mekons single was a particular highlight. Of interest, too, is Sally Timms post Mekons solo material.

I've added "Overlooked Gems" to my sidebar links, although I gather you are concentrating on Rock Town Hall these days.
