lost in space

If you have not already availed yourself of more on the excellent Jetty Web - see below - it is very definitely your loss. This neglected jewel, cribbed from tøday's revealing post on Digital Meltd0wn, is merely one excavated gem. Rip by NØ.

Brian McKay: guitar, vocals;
Stuart Sikes: drums;
Tripp Lamkins: bass;
Shannon Jay Kennedy: lead guitar.

JETTY WEBB: GEM from "Jetty Webb" CD (Lamar) 2003 (US)

I had broken headphones for days...like I told Jon...it really sucks to try following music blogs with no headphones.

I still have a lot of catching up to do.

I like this..sounds like he needs to find a woman with no legs. Second tune I liked even better.

Well. At least no one might accuse you of not saying what you mean. I like this song immensely.

I detest those 'ear buds' that come with mobile phones. Wearing headphones makes me feel claustrophobic. And I am paranoid enough to imagine intruders sneaking through the hall as I sit there oblivious.

This insecurity may stem from an incident many years back when a junkie held me up at needlepoint as I wandered through a bus station overpass late one night blinkered by my Walkman.

Ha! Actually, I only just got what you meant by "a woman with no legs"...

Very good. My brain is fogged this morning. That made me crack a smile.

"Gem" is a beautiful little thing. Wish I had paid more attention when you posted the previous track. Just spent a pleasant half hour trailing through their friends and friends of friends on myspace.

Yes, sorry, I am a twisted old broad.

I always leave one slightly off my ear...but then I have my back to a solid outside corner wall with full view....hell, even paranoid people have enemys.

Yes. Eventually downloaded it. Best track is the hidden one. Worry sometimes how much good music like this I miss out on in the post-Peel world.

Ah. John Peel is very sadly missed by me also. And then some.

I felt somewhat guilty about poaching this track from NØ's original rip so soon; excited as I was, I was unable to contain myself. There is so much music out there. Most of it frankly terrible, but far from all so.

I am constantly amazed by what the internet can achieve. Those ills a small community might set straight, unburdened by commercial forces and advertising led constraints.

Thanks for the reply.

Apologies for the delay in reply, but the post had disappeared when I looked for it on Saturday.

Yes! That was all my doing. I pulled the post after some furious self-debate regarding proprietary, or whether I might have bolted the gate way too early.

It was Nathan's deal, after all. I kind of felt I might have been a tad hasty in my scavenging.

I am often far too impulsive for my own good.

Ib,

Thanks, NØ. The hideaways had me irritated. Felt like telling them I'd cut off their f@ckin' nose and feed it to the dogs.

Clocking in a little late here; according to the disc I have missing from the notes is one Shannon Jay Kennedy on lead guitar. May all the planets be aligned.

Dig this blog.

Thanks, anonymous. I'll amend the credits to include Shannon...

Don't be a stranger, as they say here in Scotland.
